Once a year, we unleash the madness. Choke the Chicken is our legendary annual comedy competition,

where 16 comedians go head-to-head in the ultimate test of survival—armed only with their wits, and facing an audience armed with rubber chickens.

 

Each act has 5 minutes to win the crowd over. If the jokes don’t land? The chickens fly, and their set is done. Make it to the end without getting choked, and you could make it to the final clap-off—where the audience decides the winner.

 

The prize? £200 cash, a prime spot at a future Squawkers night, and of course, the eternal respect of the comedy industry (or at least the people in the bar that night).

         The first rule of Spite Club… is to ALWAYS talk about Spite Club.

 

This is Squawkers’ brutal and brilliant take on the classic roast battle, fuelled by Pete’s love of comedy and the anarchic spirit of Fight Club. Once a year, comedians from across the South West bring their beef to the stage, going head-to-head in a no-holds-barred clash of savage disses and razor-sharp wit.

 

Battles are judged by a panel of special guest judges—no mercy, no ties, just cold, hard verdicts.

Who will win eternal bragging rights as the South West’s top roast comic?
